Safeguarding

The parishes of Sutton Hill & Woodside are committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies Church of England's Safeguarding Policy and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) Yvonne Mallard who  ensures, with the PCC that our safeguarding policy SHCSGPv2b Promoting a Safer Church - Policy 24.11.2020 is implemented and regularly reviewed.

All paid and volunteer workers are recruited using the Safer Recruitment process, using guidelines provided by the Diocese of Hereford including the requirements for DBS checks and the appropriate level of Safeguarding awareness training.

The Diocese of Hereford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including details of the Diocesian Safeguarding team and  Carl Steventon Diocesan Safeguarding Officer (DSO), who advise our PSOs.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk harm, please contact Yvonne Mallard (PSO) or Carl Steventon (DSO).

Call 999 if a child or adult is in immediate danger of significant or serious harm. You may also want to contact Telford & Wreking Children or Adults Services.
